A little about Jake…

I grew up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. In 2000 I graduated from White Mountains Regional High School and went on to get my Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from Plymouth State Univeristy. After graduation from PSU, i went to work for a year at Upper Valley Press as a third shift pre-press technician. It was there a learned the intricacies of webb press printing and all about the ways of dog-catching and fixing Ford Mustang GTO’s from a delightfully crusty ol’ shift-leader.

A lust for adventure and an aversion to cold weather pushed me out of the mountains of New Hampshire and down I-95 to Florida’s doorstep. I had packed everything that I held most valuable in my life into a 2001 Kia Spectra and decided to try and make a new start on the opposite end of the country.

I first started in Dayonta Beach working part-time at the Uno Chicago Grill there located across from the speedway. Being a waiter is tough work, the hours suck, and it wasn’t what I wanted to do with the rest of my life, so I got involved in trashy little publication known as Backstage Pass Magazine. I served as BSP’s art director for nearly 7 months before the stress of the working enviornment and the lack of money forced me to walk in do my best Half Baked impression where I let everyone know exactly where they stood with me, and promptly quit. It was the best decision I have ever made.

The Fates then led me to Orlando and to Watermark Media where I have served as art director since February of 2007. Working at Watermark Media has been and absolute joy and has opened me to many new experiences and people.

Fun Fact: I spent seven years working as a cowboy-lifeguard at a Western-themed water park called Six Gun City.
